The Safer Travel Partnership is a collaboration between three main organisations -
Centro - the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive, which promotes and develops public transport across the West Midlands.
British Transport Police – the national police for the railways, which provides a policing service to rail operators, their staff and passengers throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
West Midlands Police – the second largest police force in England and Wales covering the seven regions making up the West Midlands conurbation - Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
Together with other transport industry partners, the Partnership works to reassure the travelling public and reduce crime and anti-social behaviour on public transport in the West Midlands.
Since the Safer Travel Partnership was formed crime has continued to fall on public transport, with the result that buses, trains and trams in the West Midlands are now safer than they have ever been before. (see Performance)
