Dealing with Crime and anti-social behaviour

As in the community as a whole, public transport sometimes experiences problems related to crime and anti-social behaviour which can impact upon the passengers and staff on the network. In order to find solutions to the issues and problems affecting public transport passengers and staff, the partnership uses a problem-solving process called the SARA model (Scanning, Analysis, Response and Assessment):-

Scanning:

  • Identifying the problem and its consequences to the public and the police.

Analysis:

  • Identifying and understanding the causes of the problem.

Response:

  • Taking action to stop or reduce the problem

Assessment:

  • Determining whether the action taken has solved the problem
