Inspector Lee Gordon Biography

Lee has served with British Transport Police for over 22 years, having starting as a Constable in Birmingham. After five years he moved to the North West Area of the force serving at Preston and Manchester, and in 1997 Lee was promoted to Sergeant on the London Underground. After working at Finsbury Park and Baker Street Police Stations, he was put in charge of the Tutor Unit before being appointed as a Law and Procedure Trainer at the Force Training Centre in Surrey in 2000.

He then went on to become a Force Management Trainer – during which time he was seconded to a joint Management Development Team, working with Cheshire Constabulary and North Wales Police. Lee was promoted to Inspector in 2004, taking charge of the Force Core Leadership Development Programme. Returning to operational duties in 2007, he was officer in Charge of Birmingham New Street Police Station before taking responsibility for Neighbourhood Policing. Lee joined the Safer Travel Police Team in September 2010 seeing it as an exciting opportunity to be part of something new, a first in the UK and to continue his involvement in innovative projects and problem solving.
